Are you looking for an electric crossover SUV with fun tech features and a comfortable interior? If you are, add the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 to your list. This SUV will be hitting showrooms soon around Devon, Wayne, and Paoli, Pennsylvania.

To give you a look at what the VW ID.4 has to offer, Fred Beans Volkswagen of Devon has put together this preview. Read on to learn about the VW step into electric.

Engine and Handling

The VW ID.4 currently offers a rear-wheel drive; however, VW will be putting out an all-wheel drive option in the future with even more horsepower. The VW ID.4 also recycles energy through a feature called regenerative braking. When you slow the VW ID.4, the SUV recaptures some of the energy as you brake.

The VW ID.4 has a 82-kWh battery pack that holds enough energy to take this SUV up to 250 miles between full charges. The motor is rear-mounted and puts out an impressive 201 horsepower. To charge the battery, you just need a 110- or 240-volt connection, and it's also capable of DC fast charging.

Technology Features

All trims of the VW ID.4 come standard with an infotainment system. The base trim starts with a 10.0-inch touchscreen that can be upgraded to a 12.0-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ come standard with the infotainment system to allow you to connect your smartphone for music streaming, phone calls, and access to other apps.

The infotainment system in all trims also comes with standard navigation. You can also control various vehicle settings from this screen, including climate control. The VW ID.4 even comes standard with a voice recognition system.

The VW ID.4 trims come standard with a 5.3-inch digital display gauge that can be reconfigured to display information that you prefer or need at the moment. The panel even moves with the steering wheel to ensure the information is easy to view no matter the steering wheel's position.

Interior of the VW ID.4

The VW ID.4 seats five people with plenty of space to spread out on long trips. The SUV has a total passenger volume of about 100 cubic feet. The front seats are 12-way power adjustable seats. The VW ID.4 comes standard with cloth seats; however, you can upgrade to the available faux-leather look.

The driver's seat is made to keep you comfortable on long trips. The First Edition trim's driver's seat even comes with a massage function with lumbar support. You can work out those knots on those long trips.

If you're a fan of the feel of the sun and the wind on you as you coast down a highway, consider the available panoramic sunroof. Everyone in your VW ID.4 can get a view of the sun or the stars while you drive.
